One of the directors of Resident Evil 2 Remake, Kazunori Kadoi explained in an interview his intention to look to the next gen to make a new open world videogame set in the era Sengoku, or in the same historical period of Onimusha's saga action
"If I could develop what I want, I would like to make a Japanese-style Grand Theft Auto" Kadoi specified, surprising his interlocutor before adding that this project "could be set in modern Japan, or perhaps in the Sengoku or Edo period" .
The indications given by the man who, together with Hideaki Itsuno and Yasuhiro Anpo, contributed to shaping the horror by Resident Evil 2 Remake, are quite circumstantial and inevitably end up linking to the publication of the recent re-release for current-gen systems of Onimusha Warlords . Behind the statements of Kadoi could therefore hide the will, by Capcom, to revive this historic series to project it into the future with a completely new chapter and able to satisfy the tastes and needs of modern action adventure fans.
