Comcast Spectacor a company specializing in entertainment owned by Philadelpia Fusion, announced its intention to build a $ 50 million arena dedicated to the Overwatch League franchise.
Last year's Philadelphia line-up was the protagonist of an incredible season finale, reaching the appointment in New York with the London Spitfires. The complex will be part of a larger "sports" village, located in South Philadelphia.
The arena will extend for about 18,000 m / q and will present 3,500 seats . Currently the project is known as Fusion Arena. The mega complex will include a structure dedicated to training and player training, the administrative offices of the team and a studio set up specifically for streaming. So, in all likelihood, there will be content producers that will work exclusively for the Philadelphia Fusion.
Plans are planning to have the arena ready for the 2021 season of the highest Blizzard championship, with the team having a temporary home in the South Philadelphia area, at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, formerly home to Philadelphia Eagles Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers .
For the season 2020 Blizzard also intends to reviewing their own championship, introducing a real schedule that will see the teams leave the Blizzard Arena and travel, tendentially respecting a criterion of geographical proximity, to avoid big movements.
