As reported on Twitter by Michał Król of graczpospolita.pl, Techland is firing the majority of employees of its publishing division, with the aim of closing it by the end of the year. The Polish company apparently intends to withdraw from the publishing business to focus solely on the development of video games, which will however be published by third-party publishers. The publishing activities of Techland were limited mainly to Poland and other Eastern European countries but they never took place internationally, hence probably the decision to abandon this activity.
The closure of Techland Publishing will have no impact on the development of Dying Light 2, which we will mention will be published by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment as well as the first chapter. The game is currently under development for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will be released in 2019, although a precise launch window has not yet been released.
