World of Warcraft Classic will be released on August 27th preceded by a Closed Beta

A year and a half after the announcement at BlizzCon 2017, Blizzard Entertainment announced that World of Warcraft Classic will be released on August 27th. In our country we can start playing at the stroke of midnight.

Starting tomorrow, May 15, some World of Warcraft players will be invited to participate in a small-scale Closed Beta to help developers refine the gaming experience. Players will also have the opportunity to test the servers during some targeted stress tests which will take place from May to July according to the following schedule:

Stress test calendar

  • Stress test 1 : Wednesday 22 – Thursday 23 May
  • Stress test 2: Wednesday 19 – Thursday 20 June
  • Stress test 3: Thursday 18 – Friday 19 July

To have the chance to take part in the tests you must register on the management page account by selecting the beta of WoW Classic . Future stress tests will be extended to a higher number of players.

To fill the ranks of beta and stress tests, the developers will choose players from the WoW Classic beta and the standard Warcraft beta that meet particular enrollment criteria. Participants will also need to have a subscription or active playing time on their Battle.net account. Keep in mind that joining the beta is the main way to make sure you are selected for the tests, but it does not guarantee an invitation to the Closed Beta.

On August 13th, two weeks before the launch of the game, Blizzard will make the available character creation . Players with a subscription or active playing time on their account will be able to create up to three characters for each World of Warcraft account.
